The faculty, staff and students of the Weber Honors College at San Diego State University (SDSU) believe that living on campus and being engaged in a rich educational environment outside of the classroom is an integral part of a student's complete educational experience and of becoming a productive, engaged, and understanding citizen of the world. All local and out-of-area Weber Honors College freshmen are required to live on campus in the Honors Residential College in Zura Hall during their first year at SDSU. This policy was designed to ensure an exceptional undergraduate experience for Honors students at SDSU. Students living in the Honors Residential College will have the advantage of experiencing a small, intellectually and socially vibrant liberal arts environment, while enjoying access to all the resources of a large research university.
All out-of-area Weber Honors College freshmen are required to live on campus for two years as part of the SDSU Sophomore Success Program. Local area Weber Honors College freshmen are not required to live on campus their second year but those who want to can opt to live on campus on a space available basis.
Yes; the Weber Honors College requires first-time freshman Honors College students from BOTH the local-service-area AND the out-of-service-area to live in the Honors Residential College located in Zura Hall. SDSU's service area includes all high schools and community colleges in San Diego County south of State Route 56 and all of Imperial County.

Only first-time freshmen enrolled in the Weber Honors College are required to live in the Honors Residential College during their first year at SDSU. Students who apply and are accepted into the Weber Honors College after their freshman year (e.g., continuing SDSU students and transfer students) are not required to live in the Honors Residential College.
All first-time freshmen applying to the Weber Honors College (i.e., high school applicants) should indicate on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) that they will live on campus, if they are applying for financial aid. Submit your FAFSA by March 2 of your enrollment year.
